This year’s edition of the Dubai Shopping Festival
(DSF), the UAE’s largest annual shopping event, started off last week and will
run until early February. It’s another ‘Tis the season to be jolly’ mood for
me, despite the Yule season ending a few days ago. The keywords here is ‘sale,
good buy and great promotions’ so expect a lot of people making mad dashes to
the mall to avail of whatever they can get their hands on.
Speaking of this, I dropped by the ‘harman house’
stores last weekend to see what they have on offer for the festival. Looking at
their displays and racks, I saw that the store is throwing the spotlight on the
world’s first docking station from JBL for the latest Apple devices bearing the
Lightning port connector and the first ever range of harman/kardon headphones.
The ‘JBL OnBeat Micro’ comes with the new Apple
Lightning connector—a small, reversible, all-in-one digital connector, which is
80 per cent smaller than the 30-pin connector utilized in previous Apple
devices. It works compatibly with Apple’s latest range of devices like the

outstanding performance from a go-anywhere Lightning port speaker. The 'JBL
OnBeat Micro' can provide up to five hours of playback when used with batteries
and charges the iPhone5, the iPod Touch 5th generation and the new iPod Nano
when used with the included AC adapter. The unit also comes with a built-in USB
connector to power and play other portable devices. JBL's 'OnBeat Micro' also
includes a free, downloadable JBL music app to create customized playlists,
adjust volume and browse album artwork.
